The Grade 80 Weld-on Lifting D Ring is a weldable lifting point designed to provide a fixed attachment location on suitable steel structures and equipment. Its forged D-ring and flat base plate allow the assembly to be welded onto a load-bearing surface, while the ring pivots up to 180° to accommodate different sling approach angles.

Dimensions A, B, C, D and M are in millimetres. Refer to the product drawing for the corresponding dimension positions. WLL = Working Load Limit; BL = Breaking Load.

Load Capacity & Ring Movement
WLL up to 15 Tonnes: The RP008 series covers lifting capacities from 1.12 to 15 tonnes, with seven models for different load requirements.
180° Ring Pivot: The pivoting ring accommodates different sling approach angles, providing greater flexibility when positioning loads for lifting.
4:1 Safety Factor: The breaking load is four times the WLL, providing the specified strength margin for the lifting component.

Mounting Compatibility
Weld-on Installation: The base plate welds directly to a suitable steel structure; the D-ring itself must remain unwelded.
Base Dimensions: Across seven models, base dimensions range from 80–187 mm in length and 35–86 mm in width.
Steel Structure Fit: Suitable for load-bearing steel structures with compatible material and weld design.

Applications
Truck & Trailer Manufacturing: Installing welded lifting points on vehicle frames and trailer structures for lifting during assembly or maintenance.
Shipping Containers & Cargo Platforms: Providing lifting attachment points on load-bearing steel structures for handling and positioning.
Construction Machinery: Lifting excavator attachments, steel frames and heavy machine components during assembly, installation or repair.
Industrial Equipment & Molds: Moving heavy equipment housings, machine bases, molds and tooling during workshop handling and maintenance.

Quality Control & Testing
Material Verification: Check material certificates against the specified Grade 80 alloy steel requirements to verify material identification and traceability.
Dimensional Inspection: Use calibrated measuring instruments to check ring dimensions, base plate dimensions and critical tolerances against the approved product drawings. Reject components outside the specified limits.
Magnetic Particle Testing: Inspect critical areas of the ring and weldable base for surface and near-surface cracks. Reject components with relevant indications exceeding the applicable acceptance criteria.
Proof Load Testing: Apply the specified proof load according to the product test procedure. Components that show cracks, permanent deformation or other unacceptable damage are rejected.
Final Inspection: Verify model identification, surface condition and pivoting ring movement before packing. Only products meeting the applicable inspection criteria are released for shipment.

FAQ
Q: What Information Is Needed to Order a Weld-on Lifting D Ring?
A: Provide the required RP008 model, quantity, intended application and installation drawing if available. Include any project-specific marking, inspection or documentation requirements when requesting a quotation.
Q: Can Weld-on Lifting D Rings Be Supplied with Technical Drawings?
A: Technical drawings are used to verify product dimensions and mounting space before installation. Contact Ruby to confirm the drawing format and availability for the required RP008 model.
Q: Can a Weld-on Lifting D Ring Replace a Bolt-on Lifting Point?
A: Not directly in every application. Weld-on and bolt-on lifting points use different mounting interfaces. Replacement requires confirmation of the supporting structure, installation method, rated capacity and available mounting space.
Q: Are Weld-on Lifting D Rings Suitable for Repeated Industrial Lifting?
A: Suitability depends on lifting frequency, load variation and operating conditions. For production lines or repetitive equipment handling, provide the expected duty cycle and load details for technical review.
Q: What Should Be Considered When Using Weld-on Lifting D Rings Outdoors?
A: Moisture, salt spray, chemicals and temperature can affect the component and its service life. Specify the operating environment when requesting a product suitable for the exposure conditions.
Q: Can Weld-on Lifting D Rings Be Used for Cargo Restraint?
A: Only if the product is specifically rated for cargo restraint as well as lifting. A lifting WLL does not automatically establish a permissible tie-down capacity. Confirm the intended use and applicable rating before ordering.
